First Sergeant Tommy L. Love

1SG Tommy L. Love was born in Brooklyn, NY. He attended
High School at Boys and Girls High. Afterwards, he enlisted into the Army
as a Combat Engineer. His military education includes Sapper School, Air
Assault School, ANOC, BNOC, PLDC, Combat Lifesaver Course, Load Planner
Course, NBC Course, Exercise Leader Course, Equal Opportunity Leaders
Course, and Senior and Master Instructor Course.
1SG Love's assignments include service with the 40th Engineer Battalion
at Fort Stewart, GA (1985-1986); and the 562nd and 6th Engineer Battalions
at Fort Richardson, AK (1986-1989). After being reassigned to the 40th
Engineer Battalion at Fort Stewart, GA (1989-1993), 1SG Love moved on
to the Berlin Brigade in Germany (1993-1994), and Baumholder, Germany
(1994-1997). Again stateside, he was assigned to The U.S. Army Engineer
School (1997-2001); the 58t h Engineer Battalion, 11th ACR at Fort Irwin,
CA (2001-2003); Fordham University ROTC, Bronx, New York (2003-2007);
and presently at the 630th Sapper Company, Fort Drum, NY. His leadership
positions include 1SG, Senior Military Science Instructor, Live Fire NCOIC,
Sapper Platoon Observer Controller, Operation Sergeant, Platoon Sergeant,
Instructor Writer, Battalion Training NCO, Squad Leader and Team Leader.
His awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (4),
Army Commendation Medal (5), Army Achievement Medal (7), Good Conduct
Medal (7), Superior Unit Citation (3), National Defense Service Medal,
Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, South West Asia Service Medal, Global
War on Terrorism, NCO Professional Development (3), and the Sapper Tab.
